Director’s Bio / Bio del Director: Carlos Armella. Born in Mexico City in 1978. He studied script writing in the "Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica" (CCC), and then studied filmmaking in the London Film School from which he graduated with the short film A Dead End Story. He was selected for the 2003 Venice Film Festival with another short film called Poem. After his return to Mexico he got involved with the documentary feature Toro Negro. In 2008 he directed Tierra y pan, Golden Lion in the section Corto Cortissimo of Venice Film Festival 2008.
Carlos Armella cursó estudios de guión en el Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) de México. Luego estudió dirección en la Escuela de Cine de Londres, donde realizó el mediometraje A Dead End Story. Es coguionista del cortometraje A la memoria de las sirenas (Héctor Maeshiro, 2002). Dirigió el corto Poem y a su regreso a México, comenzó su colaboración con Pedro González-Rubio con quien codirige y monta su primer largo documental Toro negro y luego Common Ground. |
