Synopsis / Sinopsis: Margarita has a tumor in the base of the brain that made her blind, although the doctors assure that with an operation the girl could recover her sight. Blanca, her mother, will do anything she can to gather the money for the operation even put in risk the security of her community.
Blanca es una mujer de escasos recursos que vive en un pueblo de Guatemala. Su hija, Margarita tiene un tumor en la base del cerebro que le impide ver, sin embargo los médicos le aseguran que de operarla, la niña
podría recuperar la vista. Blanca hará todo lo posible por conseguir el dinero para la operación, incluso poner en riesgo la vida de sus vecinos.

Director’s Bio / Bio del Director: Alejo Crisóstomo has directed several fiction and documentary short films among them, the fiction short film “Blanca” and the documentary “Qak’aslemal (our existence)”. At the moment, he distributes his animation “The Adventures of Junajpu’ and Luna and is in preproduction of his Opera Prima “Faith” with funds from the CNC of France, Cinergia, Göteborg Film Festival, and Ibermedia.

Alejo Crisóstomo ha dirigido varios cortometrajes de ficción y documentales entre los que destacan el cortometraje “Blanca” y el documental “Qak’aslemal (nuestra existencia)”, Actualmente distribuye su animación “Las Aventuras de Junajpu’ y Luna”, y preproduce su opera prima “Fe” con apoyo del CNC de
Francia, Cinergia, Festival de Göteborg, e Ibermedia.
